The Financial Follies is getting a facelift.
The New York Financial Writers Association announced Monday that it would revamp the format of this year’s event.
The 2019 performance will consist exclusively of professionally-produced video content, as opposed to a live performance.
At the end of the event, the audience will vote on each video, and the winner will receive a prize.
NYFWA is also welcoming video submissions from the individuals and organizations that sponsor the event, although it is not guaranteed that participants’ submissions will be aired.
The Follies will still be a black-tie gala, and all proceeds will continue to fund scholarships for New York-area journalism school students interested in financial journalism.
