Terry Hollahan, the former editor of the Memphis Business Journal, has been named the managing editor of The Daily News and The Memphis News.
Andy Meek of the Daily News writes, “With three decades of newspaper experience and more than 15 years as a business journalist in Memphis, Hollahan is a tremendous addition to The Daily News, said James Overstreet, associate publisher and executive editor of The Daily News.
“‘I have worked both with and against Terry since 1999, and I have the highest respect for him as a colleague and a competitor,’ Overstreet said. ‘We’re thrilled to have somebody of his caliber managing the news operation.’
“Hollahan’s career includes 16 years at the Memphis Business Journal, where he joined the weekly business publication in August 1999 as a commercial real estate reporter. He moved quickly through the ranks as sections editor, managing editor and finally as the publication’s editor.
“Prior to joining the MBJ, Hollahan coordinated daily and weekend business coverage and helped run the city news desk at The Jackson Sun, where he was the business editor and assistant city editor.”
