Lou Dobbs, the former head of business news at CNN who recently departed that cable network, has talked to CNBC about working for the business news channel, reports Brian Stelter of The New York Times.
Stelter writes, “Mr. Dobbs, a free agent whose exit from CNN last month sparked speculation about plans for a political bid, could conceivably host a prime time program for CNBC. He could also become a commentator for the business news network.
“The people who spoke about the talks requested anonymity because they were not authorized by their employers to speak about it.
“‘Lou has many irons in the fire right now with many people,’ said Robert Dilenschneider, Mr. Dobbs’ spokesman.”

UPDATE: A CNBC spokesman tells Talking Biz News that “We are not in talks or negotiating with Lou Dobbs. He is not going to work for CNBC.”
