The Denver Post will cut its standalone business section during the week, putting it into news sections on Monday through Friday, sources confirmed to Talking Biz News.
The change is expected to begin sometime next week. Other papers that have cut their standalone business section are the Cincinnati Enquirer, Columbus (Ohio)Dispatch, Reno (Nev.) Gazette-Journal, Winston-Salem (N.C.) Journal, Monterey (Calif.) Herald and Akron (Ohio) Beacon-Journal.
On Monday, the business section will be tucked into the A section along with Denver & The West, the paper’s metro section.
On Tuesday through Friday, the section will be placed inside the Denver & The West section. The paper doesn’t print on Saturday because of its joint operating agreement with the Rocky Mountain News. On Sunday, it will continue to have a full-color standalone business section.
The paper is the second large metro daily to cut its standalone business section in as many weeks. Earlier, the Orange County Register announced it was cutting its standalone section at the end of January.
