Sudeep Reddy, a reporter in the Dallas Morning News’ Washington bureau who wrote about the intersection between business and government, is leaving the paper for a job at the Wall Street Journal, according to a memo.
Belo Capital Bureau VPÂ David Duitch wrote, “After a wonderful six-year run at the Dallas Morning News, Sudeep is taking his by-line and moving to the Washington Bureau of the Wall Street Journal. He will help cover the Economic Policy beat for the Journal and be a very regular contributor to their website. It is a far cry from the Richardson Bureau where Sudeep began with the Morning News. But all the skills he learned in Richardson, and in Dallas writing for Business and here in Washington covering a multitude of issues will serve him well as he takes the next step in his career.
“When discussing stories he is most proud of while writing for TDMN he listed the Wright Amendment, ERCOT, TXU and Katrina. Earlier this year Sudeep told me he attended a session on how to cover the Federal Reserve and he said he didn’t take a lot of notes because the Fed was not part of his beat. It is now. And while Sudeep may not recall everything one needs to know to cover the Fed, he has learned one lesson from Chairman Bernanke — studs are optional when wearing a tuxedo.”
Reddy, secretary of the South Asian Journalists Association, was born in Michigan and raised in Texas. He received a degree in bioethics and history from Brown University, where he was an editor of The Brown Daily Herald.
