TALKING BIZ NEWS EXCLUSIVE

Kevin Bumgarner, the editor of the Dallas Business Journal since November 2007, is now looking for a new job.

It’s unclear whether Bumgarner left on his own, or was pushed out. But a note posted Monday on his Facebook page says he is “pursuing other interests.” His name is no longer atop the paper’s online masthead, but there is no story on its Web site announcing a change.

When reached by e-mail Monday evening, Bumgarner declined to comment.

Bumgarner took over the paper two-plus years ago after being editor of the American City Business Journals paper in Greensboro, N.C., for nearly a decade. He was the founding editor of that paper, one of the few that American City has started from scratch.

Before that, he had been the business editor at the Huntsville Times in Alabama for 18 months.

Bumgarner, a graduate of Wichita State, had also worked for the Wichita Business Journal from 1990 to 1997 in a variety of positions, including editor and managing editor. He was also an education reporter and copy editor for the North Platte (Neb.) Telegraph.
