Michael Kahn, who has been writing a technical analysis column for Barron’s, is leaving the publication after nearly 17 years.

His farewell “Getting Technical” column ran online Thursday. (A subscription is required.) The column ran twice weekly.

Kahn joined Barron’s in March 2001. He was also a monthly columnist for MarketWatch.com, another Dow Jones property, for 12 years, highlighting opportunities in various stock sectors or other assets.

A former chief technical analyst for BridgeNews and former director for the Market Technicians Association, Kahn has written three books about technical analysis.

Until May 2016, Kahn also published and was the chief researcher of a daily money-making market letter for investors, money managers and traders covering all markets but weighted toward domestic equities.
