Technology news site CNET has launched Smart Home Matrix, a new site feature that is designed to help consumers navigate smart home technology.
Smart Home Matrix is a feature on CNET’s website that lets consumers quickly discover which connected devices work with each other, and what features they provide.
CNET’s Smart Home Matrix matches over 100 different smart devices, such as lighting, thermostats and locks, with all major connected home platforms, such as Amazon Alexa, Google Home and Apple HomeKit.
For example, consumers looking to see if a particular smart lock works with Google Home can find that answer by using the tool.
The Matrix will be updated by CNET’s editorial staff as new products come to market or as existing devices receive new compatibility upgrades.
“From our own testing in the CNET Smart Home, we understand one of the largest hurdles in adopting smart home technology is getting multiple devices to work together,” said Mark Larkin, senior vice president and general manager at CNET, in a statement. “Our Smart Home Matrix helps consumers do just that by letting them know what devices are compatible with each other.”
