CNBC senior vice president and editor in chief Nikhil Deogun sent out the following announcement on Friday:
At the start of the year, I told many of you that one of our priorities for 2017 is to focus more on investigative journalism. To that end, we are pleased to announce that Scott Zamost, an award-winning investigative journalist, is joining CNBC as Senior Investigative Producer.
He starts on June 1 and will report to Scott Matthews. He will work closely with CNBC reporters to produce high-quality stories across our various platforms.
Scott was most recently a Senior Investigative Producer at CNN where he produced many high-impact stories and documentaries on a range of topics, including government spending, national security and military ethics. He has spent his career as an investigative journalist, starting as a print reporter in Las Vegas before transitioning into television. He spent many years producing nationally recognized reports in Miami for local stations WPLG and WTVJ.
Scott is a two-time IRE Award winner, and counts five Edward R. Murrow Awards, two National Headliner Awards and a CINE Golden Eagle for investigative reporting among the dozens of honors and nominations he has received for his work.
Please join me in welcoming Scott to CNBC.
