CNBC says that it has hired Matt Nesto, who has been an anchor on Bloomberg Television’s “Morning Call,” to be a general assignment reporter.
“With his in-depth domestic and international reporting experience, Matt brings CNBC a fresh global perspective on business news,” said Jonathan Wald, senior vice president of business news at CNBC, in a statement.
Nesto joins CNBC from Bloomberg Television, where he spent nine years, most recently as anchor of its “Morning Call” program. Nesto also served as anchor and stocks editor for “Bloomberg’s Market Week” based in New York.
Nesto was a European correspondent for Bloomberg Television based in London and was also an anchor, producer and news director for Bloomberg Television in Tokyo, Malaysia and Singapore. While at Bloomberg Television in Tokyo, Nesto created and launched “Bloomberg Malaysia,” a joint-venture program in Kuala Lumpur, which earned him a nomination for “Best Newscast in Asia” at the Asian TV Awards in 2000.
From 1992 to 1998, Nesto held financial consultant and investment advisor positions at Lehman Brothers, Prudential Securities and Merrill Lynch.
