CNBC.com managing editor Jeffrey McCracken sent out the following announcement on Thursday:

I am pleased to announce Megan Graham is joining CNBC.com as a staff reporter based in Englewood Cliffs. Her focus will be the advertising industry and the billions of dollars spent there trying to influence consumers.

Megan spent the past two years as an advertising agency reporter for Ad Age. She covered many of the seismic changes at major ad holding companies, including Martin Sorrell’s departure from WPP and how technology is changing the way agencies work with their clients.

Prior to Ad Age, she wrote about technology and start-ups for the Chicago Tribune. Before that, she covered breaking news and business at the Chicago Sun-Times.

Megan got her start in journalism at the Kokomo Tribune as a business reporter. Originally from Chicago, she earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

When she’s not chasing down a story, Megan is cooking, reading fiction, trying weird fitness classes (ask her about that time she tried parkour), or hunting for a New York hot dog that can compare to a Chicago dog.

Please welcome Megan to our growing newsroom when she starts in early April.
