A story on its website states, “Castro, 46, earned a master’s in journalism from Columbia University, as well as a law degree from Georgetown University. She has worked as a commercial litigator with Washington law firms and as a reporter at The Star-Ledger in Newark, New Jersey, the Washington Business Journal and The Durango Herald in Colorado.
