Changes with Atlanta paper's business coverage

June 21, 2008

Public editor Angela Tuck of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution notes in her weekly column some changes occurring with the paper’s business coverage.

Atlanta Journal-ConstitutionTuck writes, “Beginning Sunday, the popular Private Quarters column, which gives readers a look inside unique metro Atlanta homes, is moving to Sunday’s Living section. The Horizon page, which features growth and development news and Maria Saporta’s column, will be moving to the Sunday Business section.

“The move will give more depth to the Sunday Business section, something readers are hungry for, according to our research. The Private Quarters feature attracts people who aren’t traditionally business section readers, so the move to Sunday Living will allow for a broader audience and create more space in Business for growth and development news.”

The Horizon section had run on Monday and was the “business” section for that day, so it appears that the Atlanta paper will no longer have a business news presence in the Monday paper. The Horizon section reported on metro Atlanta’s rapid growth and development and debuted on March 10, 1997.
