Business Insider hires Jakola as assistant ME

Kaitlyn Jakola

Kaitlyn Jakola has been hired by Business Insider as an assistant managing editor.

Her first day was Monday.

Jakola previously was the copy chief at Mic, where she managed the copy desk operations across all written and video editorial content, including newsletters, push notifications and platform-specific content.

She also wrote and maintained the in-house style guide across all publishing platforms. She had been at Mic since January 2015.

Before Mic, Jakola worked as a contributing editor at Autostraddle. She is a graduate of Northwestern University, where she was editor of The Daily Northwestern.
