Sam Boykin, a writer and editor with more than 20 years of experience, has joined the Sacramento Business Journal as its managing editor.
Sonya Sorich of the Business Journal writes, “Boykin comes to Sacramento from Charlotte, North Carolina, where he was a freelance writer for several publications, including the Charlotte Business Journal, which is also owned by American City Business Journals. He’s written for national outlets such as USA Today, Men’s Journal and Scientific American.
“His other positions include time as editor of Lake Norman Magazine, published by The Charlotte Observer, and as director of communications and public relations for the Charlotte Regional Partnership, an economic development organization with a 16-county footprint. He was also a writer and editor for Creative Loafing, an alternative news publication in Charlotte.
“Boykin, 50, has covered topics ranging from crime to business to travel. He has an English degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.”
