Energy reporter Harry Weber, who left Bloomberg News late last month, has joined S&P Global Platts as a senior natural gas writer, according to his LinkedIn page.

Before Bloomberg, Weber worked for a year as an energy reporter for the Houston Chronicle.

Weber also worked for The Associated Press for 12 years covering business news and other subjects before joining the Chronicle. While at the AP, Weber was assigned to mentor other reporters, providing coaching, assistance, career support and at times supervision. Prior to AP, Weber worked for four years as a reporter at two daily newspapers in the Boston area.

In his 12 years at the AP, Weber covered everything from the 2001 slayings of two Dartmouth professors that stunned rural northern New England to the case of Brian Nichols who escaped from a courthouse while on trial and shot and killed four people, three of them inside the courtroom. He also covered the airline industry.

Weber is a graduate of Columbia University. He is also a George Polk Award winner for environmental reporting.
