Brad Davis, the business editor of the Omaha World-Herald in Nebraska, has been hired by Bloomberg News as a breaking news editor.
He will start in April and be based in New York
The Warren Buffett-owned newspaper’s business section is down to one person and one standalone day a week in print from a seven-day-a-week standalone section with a staff of around a dozen when Davis arrived from The Wall Street Journal in 2015.
In 2016, The World-Herald won SABEW’s General Excellence award.
He was digital editor of markets and finance at The Journal when he left for Omaha. Davis spent eight years for Verdant Partners, managing a family-owned real-estate investment and management firm , before returning to college to receive a master’s degree from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.
In 2009, he joined Barron’s. He also was a reporter for The Journal and Dow Jones, covering foreign exchange, Treasurys and global economics. He also logged more than 50,000 air miles covering the Federal Reserve.
