Mary Johnson, the editor of American City Business Journals site Bizwomen.com, has left to join a startup in Charlotte.
Mark Mensheha, director of the ACBJ national news desk, writes, “‘Being the editor of Bizwomen has been one of the most exciting and rewarding jobs of my career so far. It has given me the opportunity to meet so many incredible women who are changing the world through their work, advocacy and mentorship,’ Johnson said. ‘Those women have also inspired me to take my career in a new direction: mobile technology.’
“Johnson will be joining a Charlotte, N.C.-based startup called uBack as director of digital engagement. The company, founded by two women, is a mobile fintech company that works with nonprofits and corporate giving programs to create a more streamlined and engaging giving process.
“Johnson came to Bizwomen upon its debut two and a half years ago. She previously had been managing editor of NJBIZ, a business publication covering the state of New Jersey. She also had worked with the New York news site DNAinfo and with The Economist, among other titles.”
