Todd Prince, who covers tourism and gaming for the Las Vegas Review-Journal, is leaving the paper at the end of the week.

Prince is returning to the East Coast to be closer to his family and plans to remain in journalism.

“It has been fascinating to following the gaming and hospitality industry from Las Vegas as a business reporter over the past two and a half years,” said Prince in an email. “There have been many major industry developments during that time period to keep me busy.”

Prince has covered casino consolidation, construction on new Strip resort projects and legalized gambling being passed in 10 states. He also reported on the city’s first major league sports team, hockey’s Golden Knights.

He joined the Review-Journal in January 2017 as a gaming and tourism reporter after spending 17 years in Russia. During his time in Moscow, Prince worked seven years as a stockbroker for Bank of America-Merrill Lynch and five years as a business and political reporter for Bloomberg News.

He also worked several years as a freelance writer and photographer for publications including The Moscow Times. He speaks Russian and has a bachelor’s degree in history from Brooklyn College.
