Tae Kim, an investing reporter for CNBC.com, has been hired by Barron’s as a tech reporter.

He starts his new job this week.

“I want to sincerely thank for being such an awesome editor and teacher. If I improved at all as a journalist or writer, it was due to John,” wrote Kim on Twitter.

Kim covered equities and financial markets for CNBC Pro, CNBC’s premium digital-content platform.

Prior to this role he was an editor at Yahoo Finance, worked as an equity analyst at hedge funds and as an investment analyst at a fund of funds. He began his career as a management consultant.

Kim graduated from Brown University with a bachelor’s degree in history.
