Greg Barr has been hired as the managing editor of the Austin Business Journal in Texas.
Colin Pope, the editor of the paper, writes, “Barr oversees ABJ’s day-to-day news content both on its rapidly growing website and its weekly digital and print editions, and will also contribute Web reports and blogs.
“Barr replaces Tony Quesada, who is now the managing editor of the San Diego Business Journal, and brings a wealth of reporting and editing experience to ABJ. He was previously at ABJ’s sister publication, Houston Business Journal, where he also held the position of managing editor. Barr joined the Houston paper in 2006 as a senior reporter covering banking and finance.
“A native of Canada, Barr worked as an investigative business reporter for the Financial Times of Canada in Toronto and held numerous reporting, feature writing and editing positions at other publications, including the Ottawa Citizen, one of the country’s largest metro dailies, before relocating to Texas.”
