Marissa Luck has been hired to cover real estate for the Austin Business Journal.

A story on its website states, “Most recently, she was a business reporter for The Daily News in Longview, Washington, between Seattle and Portland. She replaces Senior Staff Writer Jan Buchholz, who retires on Jan. 12.

“Luck will continue ABJ’s vigorous coverage of the residential and commercial real estate scenes — reporting not just on the transactions and trends, but also on the people who make them happen. Austin’s affordability issue plus the drastic changes at the Austin Board of Realtors and to the downtown skyline are just a few of the many storylines to follow on what is historically the newspaper’s most-read beat. And, yes, there will be plenty more on CodeNext.

“‘I’m very intent on letting readers know what is happening, not just what’s being announced, and that type of news can only be gained by having trusted, informed sources,’ Luck said. ‘I look forward to meeting people involved in all aspects of real estate and construction and reporting the important stories that will affect readers’ careers and the future of the city.'”
