Audience development director at Atlanta Biz Chronicle dies suddenly

Michael FitzgeraldMichael FitzGerald, the audience development director of the Atlanta Business Chronicle, died Saturday at the age of 37.

FitzGerald had joined the paper after graduating from college 15 years ago and had moved up through the ranks at the American City Business Journals paper.

He leaves behind two daughters, Riley Moss FitzGerald and Emma Gunn FitzGerald. He is survived by his parents, Maebeth and Rusty FitzGerald, his sister and brother in law, Erin and Yusuf Kazmi, and his nephews Connor and Keller, all of Roswell. He also leaves many aunts, uncles, cousins, and his loyal dog Farley.

FitzGerald was also assistant advertising coordinator, interim research director and circulation sales manager at the paper. He graduated from Appalachian State University and received a certificate in marketing and branding from the J. Mack Robinson College of Business at Georgia State University.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations made out directly to his daughters, Riley and Emma FitzGerald, for their college fund. Donations can be mailed to Erin Kazmi at 250 Saddle Creek Drive, Roswell, GA 30076
