ALM, the parent company of publications such as American Lawyer, the National Law Journal and the New York Law Journal, has acquired Global Leaders in Law, a general counsel forum, for an undisclosed amount.
Global Leaders in Law is an invitation-only membership group, offering general counsel lawyers a platform for virtual and in-person collaboration to exchange ideas, receive advice and guidance from peers and participate in an advanced leadership skills development program.
ALM will combine Global Leaders in Law with its existing media, intelligence and events portfolio. Members will receive access to tools and research to benchmark against peers through ALM Intelligence.
“General Counsel have always been valued clients of ALM,” said Bill Carter, CEO at ALM, in a statement. “The addition of the elite GLL General Counsel group to our portfolio enables us to deliver the highest quality products to leading global General Counsel and their teams.”
Meena Heath, the founder of Global Leaders in Law, will continue as the president.
This marks the fifth acquisition by ALM, following the acquisition of Legal Week announced in January 2016. ALM was acquired by a consortium led by EagleTree Capital in June 2014.
