Jameson Berkow joined Canopy Rivers Inc. at the start of the year where he held the post of founding editor-in-chief of The Rise, a new media outlet covering entrepreneurship in legal cannabis markets globally.

Sadly, due to the pandemic, Berkow has lost his job. He tweets:

“Sadly, I must confirm this means the end for The Rise. I am very proud of the journalism we produced during our brief existence and am deeply grateful to the many talented people who put their best work into this project.”

He came from The Globe and Mail where he held the post of a business reporter. Prior to that, he was with Bell Media where he served as senior reporter, BNN Bloomberg. He was also Western bureau chief of Business News Network.

Berkow has also worked as a reporter at National Post and as an editorial intern at Toronto Life Magazine.

Berkow is a B.A. in political science from Queen’s University.
