WSJ’s Personal Journal seeks deputy editor

July 12, 2014

Personal Journal is looking for a deputy editor.

The editor will help lead a team of reporters, editors, art directors and photo editors. The section publishes three days a week in print and throughout the week digitally, covering health, home, tech, travel, style, and other consumer topics. We are looking for a creative talent who can help us think innovatively and ambitiously about story-telling and design on all platforms.

The ideal candidate will bring rigorous news judgment to our coverage areas. Our features succeed when they illuminate an issue in a novel way: readers should recognize the subject immediately and be surprised by the story. The section thrives when it attempts new things.

Prospective candidates should have experience managing a section or group of reporters. Candidates should be comfortable working on stories in print and online. Design experience is a plus.

Interested candidates should apply online and include a list of five story ideas for print and online.
