WSJ/Dow Jones seeks spot desk reporter in London

wall-street-journal-logo_20110715210549The main duties of a Spot Desk Reporter are to flash fast and accurate headlines based on news released through the London regulatory news services.

The position requires quick thinking, excellent news judgment and a keen eye for detail, as well as the ability to distil large amounts of information into sharp and accurate news stories. The successful candidate should be able to produce fast headlines that beat the competition, ideally having a knowledge of UK corporate news, financial statements and an understanding of companies that make up the various constituents of the market.

Candidates will also be expected to break news and conduct regular interviews with high level executives and newsmakers for publication on Dow Jones Newswires and in The Wall Street Journal. Previous experience, a track record of breaking news and a background of working in a real-time news environment would be advantageous.
