The Wall Street Journal is seeking an enterprising journalist to work with our Global Central Banks Editor and our Federal Reserve team in Washington and New York to cover regional Fed banks other than the New York Fed, particularly those in the West and Midwest.

The reporter will cover the banks and their presidents as regulators and monetary policy makers. The reporter also will write about regional economics, in coordination with the Washington-based economics team. The reporter will work across all platforms. The job requires extensive travel.

Qualifications:We are looking for someone with strong news judgment, writing ability and digital skills. The ideal candidate would have experience covering both financial regulation and economics, getting scoops and developing sources. Experience covering central banking would be a plus. Living in the West or Midwest would be a plus, given the travel requirements.
