WSJ seeks markets reporter in Hong Kong

February 12, 2016

The Wall Street Journal is seeking a reporter to cover one of the hottest stories in the world right now: decrypting what’s going on in Asian markets and economies.

Topics range from the impact China’s slowing growth has on economies and trade flows around the world, to the arcane movements of the yuan and yen, to the dangers of soaring private debt levels in Indonesia and India.

We are looking for someone with an attention to detail, who can dive into the nitty gritty of a currency fix or an interest-rate cut — as well as an eye for big-picture developments and global trends, who can tell those stories through concrete examples and human tales.

Experience in covering markets and/or macro-economics is a big plus. Curiosity, energy, enthusiasm, strong writing skills and the ability to collaborate across borders is a must.

The job would be based in Hong Kong.
