WSJ seeks commodities reporter in London

WSJ460The Wall Street Journal is looking for a reporter with plenty of energy to cover a range of commodities in real time.

This person will work with a specialized team around the world to drive coverage of several markets including metals, softs and agricultural commodities. mostly for our newswires platform.

The reporter will file on market-moving news that will cover the full commodities value chain. This will include news, comment and analysis of specialist areas such metals production and trading, large wheat tenders and growing seasons for a diverse range of crops.

The reporter will look to break news on all these topics to inform our customers’ real-time trading and business decisions. It will also require monitoring minute-by-minute moves in global commodities markets, talking to traders and investors to stay ahead of the curve.

Ability to work under pressure, whilst ensuring accuracy and timeliness, is essential. A solid track-record of real-time news writing, including covering conferences, is also advantageous.

The position is on a six-month fixed-term contract, is based in London and mainly covers Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
