USA Today seeks a consumer editor

USA Today’s Money team is seeking a Consumer Editor to oversee retail, consumer, food and personal technology coverage.

This organized editor will manage a team of reporters and will be responsible for generating fresh ideas, short- and long-range planning, overseeing breaking news, off-the-news enterprise, features and ambitious projects including investigative journalism.

The successful candidate is a strong editor who is an experienced multi-platform business and technology journalist who seamlessly integrates video and social media into content plans.

This editor will sometimes edit or oversee other content areas and may represent USA Today and USA Today Money at events, in media and conferences. Some weekend and evening work is required.

You should be comfortable managing direct reports remotely and working with news teams across the USA Today Network. A collaborative and cooperative spirit is a must.

This successful candidate will have at least 10 years of journalism experience and may be based in McLean, Virginia, Los Angeles or New York City. Previous editing experience is preferred.
