The St. Louis Post-Dispatch seeks a talented journalist with experience and knowledge of business and economic development to join our newsroom.

Economic development is at the core of both our regional and financial coverage, and we need a reporter who can understand complex issues and write accurately and authoritatively for digital and print.

This reporter tracks emerging industries, trade, employment and finance as well as the key business organizations and government agencies responsible for promoting and growing the region. In addition, the reporter should have a track record of covering major development projects, expansions and contractions as well as an understanding of economic development tools and strategies.

The candidate must be able to juggle breaking news and longer-term enterprise. The right applicant also looks for ways to integrate photos, graphics and multimedia opportunities into coverage and is a leader in engaging audiences through social media. Most of all we are looking for a versatile reporter who also is a collaborative colleague, critical thinker and a graceful storyteller.

At least two years of reporting experience is preferred.

Applicants should include a resume, a letter explaining why you would be the right person for this position and five samples of work. Apply online here or via email to Adam Goodman, deputy managing editor, at agoodman@post-dispatch.com.
