Secondaries Investor seeks editor

Secondaries Investor, the only news website dedicated to covering the thriving market for secondaries in private equity, real estate and other alternative asset classes, is looking for a senior journalist to help develop and deliver its output of quality news and analysis.This New York-based editor will lead the news coverage on www.secondariesinvestor.com, taking responsibility for its global output and steering contributions from a London-based journalist.

As well as sourcing and writing secondaries-related stories, the role also involves writing comment pieces and commissioning relevant third-party data, guest commentaries and analysis.

RequirementsThe prime requirements are enjoying breaking news and cultivating market sources in a competitive online environment and an interest in business and finance journalism, including tackling sometimes complex topics. Familiarity with private equity, institutional investment and portfolio theory would be an advantage.

You should have an interest in developing and implementing strategies to drive traffic to websites and you also need the ability to edit other people’s copy.

Resilience under pressure – remaining focused in the face of competing priorities to ensure key deadlines are met – is also key. The individual should also be a gifted networker, who is willing and able to travel and attend industry-related events; engaging constantly with the markets we cover is a core requirement. Fluency in foreign languages and multimedia reporting skills are a plus.

The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent and at least three solid years of journalism or related experience.
