Savannah Morning News seeks business reporter

April 21, 2015

Posted by Chris Roush

The Savannah Morning News is looking for an experienced  writer to be part of our two-reporter business staff. We have daily business sections six days a week and produce a monthly business journal.

Our local economy is surging after coming out of the recent recession, and our key economic segments include the Port of Savannah (the fourth busiest container port in the country), tourism, manufacturing, health care and retail.

On the manufacturing side, Gulfstream, for example, employs more than 10,000 people and builds its high-end business jets here, and tourists’ visits are measured in numbers reaching eight digits. Because of the sometimes conflicting demands of proposed development and the strict zoning rules of our historic downtown district, squabbles over proposed exceptions can be intense.

If you have an interest in covering these and more, please send your resume, a cover letter and links to your clips to gale.baldwin@savannahnow.com.
