San Francisco Business Times seeks fall interns

The award-winning San Francisco Business Times is seeking two experienced editorial interns for reporting, writing and research.

The interns will report and write stories for the print edition and web site as well as help proofread the paper. The interns will also help conduct research.

We’re looking for sharp, motivated, ambitious and organized individuals.

You will work alongside a team of 15 reporters, editors and researchers in downtown San Francisco on a publication regularly named one of the best weeklies in California. We cover real estate, nonprofits, biotechnology, health care, finance, technology and sports business. Our website — sanfranciscobusinesstimes.com — also features local business and industry news.

Our reporting interns have gone on to full-time positions at TechCrunch, The Recorder, The Oregonian, AP, the Houston Business Journal, the San Antonio Business Journal, Thomson Reuters, the San Jose Mercury News and elsewhere. Many have stayed on as reporters in our newsroom.

The internship is for approximately 30-40 hours per week and pays $13 an hour. We are looking for interns to start in early to mid-August. Internships last 90 days.

You will need:

-Solid journalism experience at a student newspaper and/or an internship at a newspaper, magazine or web site. Business journalism experience is a plus. This means you need published clips.
-Strong command of English grammar, usage and punctuation.
-To be dependable and organized.
-To be extremely detail-oriented.
-To be available 30-40 hours per week.
-To be accustomed to working in a team atmosphere.
-To be in possession of a sense of humor and strong people skills.
-Knowledge of the Bay Area.
