Reuters seeks regulatory reporter in Asia

The Asia Finance Team at Reuters is looking for a journalist to cover the regulation beat, a critically important area for the file.

Responsibilities: –
– The main focus of the beat, will be the new rules and regulations that affect the trading and banking operations at financial institutions across Asia and the rest of the world.
– Reporting on Dodd-Frank, swaps, and other key financial reforms
– Will embrace any major regulation issue that arises, including global trading desk investigations (Libor, FX, NDFs), local probes, money laundering, and corporate governance.
– The U.S. accounting spat with China is another hot topic on the beat, as are China’s financial reforms.
– Produce exclusive news and develop deep knowledge of the regulation industry

Requirements: –
– At least five years financial news experience
– A wide-ranging knowledge of the world’s main financial regulations
– A track record of initiative reporting
– Experience working with multiple bureau and news coverage teams
– Strong writing skills and the ability to render complex topics accessible to a broad audience
– Self-driven news chaser
– Works well in a team environment, much of the roles involves coordination across bureaus
– Strong writing and explanatory skills required
