Multimedia coverage is a top priority and we’re looking for three exceptionally talented and energetic journalists for the new regional posts of Multimedia Editor in the Americas, Asia and EMEA.

The successful candidates will have an excellent understanding of our work across video, pictures, text and graphics and how we can bring it together better for our customers.

The Multimedia Editors will work closely with the regional editors from the different parts of our news file to ensure that we have all the content we need and see new opportunities for telling stories better in a multimedia way. They will communicate closely with the teams that are packaging our multimedia products and ensure that our customers get good notice of what we are producing.

These roles will require leaders who have excellent news judgment, plenty of ideas and can work with the speed that our customers demand. Finding new ways of doing things, a collegial approach and a desire to better understand the changing ways that the world will get its news are essential. Successful candidates will be able to lead changes within their region, engage colleagues and find solutions to issues that arise along the way. The ability to communicate clearly and with enthusiasm is therefore a must.

Applications are welcome from journalists who have spent their career working in one particular discipline, although experience from both visuals and text would be a definite advantage. These positions will be secondments for one year. The Multimedia Editors will report to the regional editors. The positions will be based in Singapore, New York and London.

Responsibilities:
– Work with editors from pictures, video, text and graphics to ensure we have all the content we need across planned and breaking news
– Look for opportunities to make more from our coverage by commissioning additional work alongside where need be
– Ensure that our packaging teams and customers are well aware of the content we are publishing in a timely manner
– Ensure that content carries the necessary tagging to link it together effectively for customers
– Champion the importance of multimedia coverage for our future and lead changes to the way we deliver news
