Reuters seeks news producer in New York

The news producer is responsible for producing early morning financial news updates for our Wall-Street based audience focusing on overnight financial news from Europe, Asia, the Middle East and United States with a focus on global financial markets, asset classes, regulation, macro economics and wealth management.

Execute daily morning and afternoon news programs aimed at a financially sophisticated audience; Coordinate news stories with Reuters team in the US, Hong Kong, India and Dubai; Prepare clear, concise scripts that capture the nuances of the financial world including the FOREX and commodities exchange; Produce daily midday financial news show which allows viewers to gather information on stock trades as well as top financial news headlines; Manage field news projects with staff and subjects, including setting up shots, ensuring the equipment is utilized correctly as well as final editing; and oversee the production in the control room, both live and pre-recorded to ensure that production staff and technical directors continue to follow clear guidance and instructions.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Journalism, Communications or a related field plus 2 years of TV production experience. Experience with working with Final Cut Pro, Avid and Motion. Experience working with Brainstorm, Chartvision, Power Plus Pro 7 Excel. Must have control room experience including teleprompter control, intercom panels, audio board, scan converters and INEWS for writing scripts and managing schedules.

Experience working with Livewire for transmitting live video and working various cameras including Sony Tandberg, Panasonic 250, CannonC-300 and 5D. Experience working within Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Aftereffects.
