Reuters seeks financial regulation reporter in DC

Reuters is looking for a reporter to lead our coverage of financial regulation from the Washington bureau.

The successful candidate will cover the latest developments in how the government regulators are policing Wall Street, break news and establish a plan for enterprise coverage.

He or she will work with a team of reporters in Washington, as well as those in New York who cover financial institutions. Being first and insightful with the views from the regulators and the Hill will form a core part of our coverage of Wall Street.

The increasing frequency of extraordinary market events such as the 2010 Wall Street flash crash; also for a greater role of regulators in stabilizing markets. We are looking for someone who can deliver exclusive news and insight, and who has the ambition to be part of a team looking to compete on both the speed and depth of our reporting.

Qualifications
Related coverage experience with a track record in breaking news.
A demonstrated ability to develop sources, work public records and conduct investigations are required.
The successful candidate should be calm under pressure, have an ability to multitask and to deliver clean copy quickly on a breaking story. An understanding of what our global customers need is essential.
