International Financing Review, the world’s leading source of capital markets intelligence for over 30 years, is looking for a knowledgeable and motivated reporter to join the London team to cover credit markets, writing about primary and secondary bond market activity mostly in the EMEA region.

Role Overview

Covering both primary and secondary credit markets for IFR’s print and Thomson Reuters’ real-time products, the reporter will break news and write analysis on new issues, mandates, and major market moves. Specifically with the aim of helping us set the agenda for the buy-side and sell-side and connect industry trends, noteworthy credit stories and systemic risk. In addition to knowing the origination, syndicate and traders at the institutions that operate in our sectors, we need to have the view from investors. Try to step back from the primary market focus, and help expand awareness and intelligent coverage of secondary credit market activity, special situations and distressed debt.

Key Responsibilities:
– Proactive approach to generating real-time credit market content written for expert and non-expert clients.
– Supporting the front-line IFR Markets credit team in London including the daily flow of information on new issue news and pricing
– Ensuring market moves are covered efficiently and in timely fashion.
– Exercising sound news judgment on what moves markets and why.
– Establishing and maintaining close contact with bankers, traders and investors.
