Reuters seeks correspondent in Montreal

February 21, 2015

Posted by Chris Roush

Reuters is looking for a dynamic, experienced journalist with strong reporting skills to cover company news in Montreal and lead coverage of the province of Quebec. The successful candidate will need to be a talented all-rounder, capable of jumping between coverage of major companies and investment funds to political and general news.

The French-speaking province is home to the country’s second-largest pension fund – a major buyer of international infrastructure and real estate assets – as well as the U.N.’s aviation agency, multinational corporations and an influential resource sector.

We are looking for someone who can cultivate excellent sources and has a history of breaking news and producing compelling, deeply-reported initiative stories.

Major themes will include moves by Quebec financial institutions to expand and invest abroad in addition to identifying winners and losers as the province’s resource sector and related companies scramble to restructure in the wake of a major commodity price drop.
