Reuters seeks corporate finance reporter

Posted by Chris Roush

Reuters is looking for an enterprising corporate finance reporter.

This is a new role that we are creating within the M&A group to expand the team’s reach and scope, with the idea of breaking news and writing insightful stories about how corporate America funds itself.

Wall Street bankers advice companies on a range of corporate finance issues, from cash management and treasury services and capital markets advisory to overall balance sheet management. This correspondent will get inside that world to break news and write original stories about both companies and banking.

They will work closely with the rest of the M&A and finance teams, as well as with colleagues in the Company News and Markets teams.

Qualifications

The successful candidate should have a deep understanding of financial markets across assets as well as a long Rolodex of bankers, traders, CFOs and treasurers.

The person should also have an ability to know a scoop when they see one, conceptualize stories and connect the dots, and – perhaps most importantly – write stories such that they are accessible to a wider, sophisticated audience.

The successful candidate should also be solid on sourcing standards. We are looking for someone with a strong track record of doing that.
