Reuter seeks Seattle bureau chief

Reuters-LogoReuters is seeking a talented business reporter to lead our coverage of Boeing and the U.S. aviation market. We are looking for an experienced journalist who can dig deep inside some of the world’s largest aerospace companies and break news across the supply chain, from the big engine makers to small suppliers, rooting out problems that might interrupt production and reporting on new technologies shaping everything from space flight to urban travel.

The Seattle bureau chief will have the sources, versatility and imagination to produce a competitive multimedia file aimed at investors and our worldwide media audience. The job will involve managing a small group of reporters and leading by example with a steady output of exclusive news and analysis. Good writing, editing and communication skills are essential as the Seattle bureau chief will help coordinate the work of aerospace reporters elsewhere in the United States, Canada and Latin America – all as part of a worldwide team led by a global aerospace editor.

Being first with market-sensitive news, producing sophisticated analysis and a having head for numbers are all essential for this senior business reporting role in Reuters.

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years reporting experience
  • Strong writing skills
  • A flair for investigative reporting, the ability to bring sometimes arcane technical stories to life
  • Management experience preferred
