The Real Deal Magazine, New York City’s first and largest real estate-focused news magazine, is seeking a Deputy Web Editor to join our team in Manhattan.

With over 2 million visits a month, TheRealDeal.com is the go-to news source for some of the city’s top real estate, finance and investment professionals. Our coverage includes breaking news, investigative stories, market reports and long-form narrative profiles. We won an award for general excellence from the Society of American Business Editors and Writers in 2013, and our work is regularly cited by the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, NBC New York and a host of business publications.

The DWE will work closely with the Managing Web Editor to shape our online coverage, and will be responsible for editing several stories per day as well as making sure the website has a strong and clear voice. The DWE will also supervise certain aspects of web production, such as scheduling stories and newsletters. The ideal candidate will have experience in business journalism and working in an online breaking news environment. The ability to edit copy quickly and accurately is a must, as is the ability to make a story sing. Experience covering real estate in major markets is a plus.

Salary is competitive and is based on experience. Benefits include health insurance, a 401-K plan and the ability to grow within the organization.

Interested applicants should send a resume, cover letter and three clips to Hiten Samtani, the managing web editor, at jobs@therealdeal.com
