April 23, 2015

Posted by Chris Roush

The Lansing State Journal, a Michigan.com and Gannett Company, is seeking an experienced reporter who goes beyond traditional business coverage to focus particularly on new businesses, entrepreneurship, shop local, farm to table, etc.

Coverage of franchise topics such as General Motors and development will be a part of this beat, but not the primary function. This is an enterprising beat, with daily, mid-level and in-depth reporting expectations. The business transformation reporter is expected to engage daily with readers through social media, stories and other outreach.

Qualified candidates will have:

  • Bachelor’s in Communications, Journalism or equivalent in experience and education.
  • Experience with news reporting on multiple platforms.

Qualified candidates should send a cover letter, resume, and work samples by email to ekulhanek@lsj.com.
