Mashable Australia is on the hunt for an experienced journalist with a tech focus for Down Under. Working alongside the Editor, you will be responsible for sourcing Australian technology news stories, talking to local startup founders, attending launch events and keeping ahead of the trends.

Day to day your duties will be varied, with the need to step in to assist in editing and publishing stories when necessary due to international demand. To succeed in this role you will be a CMS gun, obsessed with breaking news, enjoy working in a super-speed environment and have a few years experience in online editorial.

This is the second position for this location and you will be working directly with the Australian Editor. The ability to be flexible as we grow locally is a must for this position. The role will require you to work Sunday – Thursday, as to complete our 24/7 global news cycle.

  • Based in Sydney, Australia
  • 2-3 years of editorial experience in a fast-paced newsroom
  • Sub-editing experience
  • Strong grasp of grammar and AP Style
