MNI, a global financial news service, has an immediate opening for an experienced editor/reporter for the Washington, D.C. bureau, covering economic policy, Federal Reserve, Treasury, economic data, financial regulation, oil, commodities or similar topics.

The ideal candidate will have at least five years of reporting experience, a strong background covering related topics, including economic data reports, familiarity with Excel, acute attention to detail, a fast hand and cool head under pressure to cover breaking news with aplomb and without mistakes.

Solid writing, editing and communications skills a must, in addition to the ability to find stories others might miss that will move markets We want the stories our readers need but don’t know they’re missing.

Must be a good team player willing to jump in where needed and take on new tasks, who excels in pressure situations and is a multitasker who can fit into a fast-paced newsroom, but also self-motivated and able to find the big story. We thrive on competition but offer a friendly and flexible work environment, and a competitive salary commensurate with experience. Must be able to work legally in the United States.

Email cover letter and resume, as well as any clips or writing samples to heather.scott@mni-news.com with “Editor/Reporter” in the subject line. MNI is a Deutsche Boerse company.
