Law360 seeks aerospace/defense reporter

Law360 is seeking a senior reporter to cover the aerospace and defense and government contracts beats in Washington DC.

This reporter will ideally have experience covering the aerospace and defense industry, and government contracts litigation, including federal contract bid protests, contract disputes and whistleblower suits under the False Claims Act. The reporter will also cover suspension and debarment issues, procurement fraud, bribery and kickbacks, and the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.

Agencies that would be the primary focus are the US Department of Defense, Department of Veterans Affairs, Interagency Suspension and Debarment Committee, Department of Homeland Security, Office of Federal Contract Compliance Program.

This reporter would also be responsible for covering cases stemming from the Court of Federal Claims, the Federal Circuit and the U.S. Government Accountability Office.

Required experience includes:

– BA/BS in Journalism

– Two years of paid, full-time reporting experience

– One year of paid, full-time reporting experience with a daily publication

– Coverage of government contracts litigation

– Demonstrated reporting, writing and organizational skills

– An interest in business and legal issues

Preferred experience includes:

– Graduate degree

– Experience in news reporting (AP Style), covering legal or business news
