Jacksonville Biz Journal seeks banking/financial services reporter

The Jacksonville Business Journal is hiring a banking and financial services reporter.

Jacksonville has deep roots in the industry. It’s home to a Fortune 500 financial services company, a slew of bank regional headquarters, a major (and expanding) Deutsche Bank operation and many other firms in the sector. We’re looking for someone who can dig into those companies and come out with stories, who can combine deep dives into data with deep connections with sources, who can — above all — break news.

The ideal candidate would have a love of financial reporting, plus a bachelor’s degree or the equivalent. This could be an entry-level job, but you’d be expected to hit the ground running: JBJ banking reporters have gone on to places like American Banker, so the bar is set high.

The Jacksonville Business Journal is a daily online publication with a weekly print edition. As part of the American Cities Business Journals, we and our 42 sister papers make up the No. 1 source of local business news in the country.

If you’re interested, email Editor Timothy Gibbons at tgibbons@bizjournals.com. Include your resume, clips and whatever else you think will demonstrate you have what it takes to help us produce the best local business report in Florida.
