Houston ChronicleThe Houston Chronicle, one of the largest newspapers in the United States, is looking for a talented and motivated financial/enterprise reporter. This person will have an expertise in financial and corporate affairs that leads to powerful stories and profiles.

The reporting mission will focus on big money, big players, major companies that drive the Texas economy. To do this, the reporter must be able to navigate the complexities of corporate regulations and analyze financial numbers in a way that can lead to revelatory stories. This role would be attached to a business news initiative under consideration that includes a weekly print publication.

Greater Houston provides the ideal setting for producing high-impact business journalism – a diverse, international metropolitan area anchored by some of the world’s largest energy companies, celebrated health institutions, a strong aerospace presence (NASA), fast-growing technology sector and the nation’s second-largest port.

Chronicle readers have high expectations for business news coverage, and we embrace the challenge. Our team of 15 writers and three editors produces quality daily business news reporting, enterprise stories, special projects/sections and an energy news service website, FuelFix.

The financial/enterprise position requires strong story-telling that can only be done if you get out of the newsroom. The successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to write engaging, sophisticated stories for digital and print platforms.
